Solitude My last big serie of paintings, I started more than a year ago. At first I thought about calling it "Windows" because there is a window in most of those pictures. Paradoxly enough, I started working on those homely interior scenes, being a long way from home -at a residency in Vermont. Most of the scenes I just made up, sometimes I asked somebody to be my model, than I took a picture that helped me later. Rooms half empty, man or mostly woman standing by the window and observing the world outside. It is about solitude and emptyness. I wanted to show a silent beauty of it. A solitude like a peaceful reality not like a depression. The very private secrets of our lives that we are hiding inside our homes. The feeling of a voyer peeping though a window pane to other peoples lives. I´m still working on this serie of pictures.
